You can NAME a STAR!!!

How many STARS are there out in the UNIVERSE?? Well that's something very difficult to answer. But what if I NAME a STAR with YOUR NAME?? Yes, now you can NAME a STAR with a NAME you like and also GIFT A STAR to someone... Amazing isn't it?

There is an organisation named INTERNATIONAL STAR REGISTRY (ISR).Actually its a COMPANY founded in 1979.Naming services are limited to an entry in their STAR REGISTER.With this company you can GIFT someone a STAR.Though it sounds crazy that's what this company is actually doing. It gives you a certificate and enters your NAME for a STAR in their book.

Sadly, Astronomers will not be able to identify YOUR STAR with YOUR NAME.The certificate given  to you carries no scientific or official authenticity according to PROFESSIONAL ASTRONOMERS.
The International Astronomical Union (IAU) is the internationally recognized authority which designates stars, planets, asteroids, comets, and other heavenly bodies according to internationally accepted rules. The IAU does not sell naming rights nor does it authorize any other company or organization to do so. The IAU cautions consumers that products and services marketed by ISR and other companies have no formal or official validity whatsoever. In fact with a few exceptions of ancient or Arabic names, nearly all stars are designated by catalog numbers rather than names.

The IAU has called the ISR's star-naming business far from dangerous "charlatanry" and their products and marketing have been criticised for "seem[ing] official". The company clarifies the products it sells on its frequently asked questions page stating:
Astronomers will not recognize your name because your name is published only in our Star catalog.
You may not really name a STAR, but I think when you GIFT a STAR to someone they will be surely surprised and like it very much.
