We all use the word Xerox frequently to refer to duplicate copies of a document. But is it right to use the word XEROX?? Does this word belong to English Language?? Though most of the dictionaries have the word XEROX listed in them as a verb, its actually not verb. XEROX is not a word, its a NAME. Xerox is the name of the company which Manufactured the first PHOTOCOPYING machine. There are so many machines produced by the company, but can all of them be called xerox machine? Definitely not.
Its improper to use the word xerox to refer the duplicate copies of the document. Its like calling "Orange juice" with the name of the Juice maker's company. So please use photocopy or simply copies instead of XEROX because it sounds awkward to the native English speakers [Brits and Americans].So avoid using XEROX for duplicate copies :)...
